Charcuterie board small - Fog volcanic
This is a serving board that enables you to serve cheese and charcuterie in style. This smaller size works great for 1-2 cheeses. It’s created using the slab technique, which means the clay is rolled out and shaped. The board has a black strap made out of cork leather for hanging. The strap is finished with a Lark’s head knot and a Matthew Walker knot on top. Read more about cork leather below.
The board is crafted using a mixture of different clays and other raw materials, wedged together to create a brown highly speckled clay body. It is then finished with a matte grey glaze that I developed myself, that allows for the speckles to come to their full right.

Cork leather
Cork leather is a plant based material used in place of leather, and is loved for its leather like properties. It comes from the bark of the cork oak tree. When harvesting the bark, the tree takes no damage. Cork leather will get softer when you use it over time, and withstands water better than traditional leather. The cork used for this product comes from Portugal.
